Get your your local on this Winter!! Outdoors=fresh air,  local produce = healthy food,  fresh seafood and pastured meats = tasty meals,  familiar faces = smiles and community……PLENTY of reasons to shop at your farmers market!! Saturdays, twice a month, on 8th St at Main, 10am-2pm. Parking is easy on Saturdays downtown. Questions? Call the manager on 503 734-0192.

We’ll have a GREAT selection of produce all through the winter..starting off this Saturday RJ Farms, Rick Steffens Farm, Kiyokawa Orchards and Caldwell Farm will be bringing fall squash, peppers of all kinds, kale, chard, 4 kinds of potatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, pie pumpkins, beets, cabbage, cilantro, spinach, bok choy, kohlrabi, carrots, apples, pears…even strawberries, tomatoes and a few cukes and eggplants!

IMG_2360Sweet Home Farms Meats will be at every winter market, as will Wild Oregon (providing the boats can get out to catch!), this week Robin will have RAZOR Clams email to order wildoregon.robin@hotmail.com, Steelhead, frozen Albacore and Chinook, steamer Clams, Netarts Oysters and some white fish.  In addition she’ll have marinated Anchovies and delicious wild Chanterelles!

It’s getting to be baking season, and we will have plenty of farm fresh eggs from RJ Farm’s happy chickens…the early bird gets the …eggs! Check out Eats of Eden’s Kombucha and their NEW line of frozen soups. You’ll find salsa, vinegars,  hummus, jams , lemon curd, chutneys and relishes too. Baked goods from 3 bakeries….and of course local wine! Dog treats, soaps and lotions, wood items and hand-spun knits. 22 vendors this week…with 8 more joining us (!) as we get further into the season, including more mushrooms and veggies (can you ever have too many?) coffee , caramels, smoked pork products , plus Holiday wreaths, trees and greens!

Mitzil’s (Mexican ) will be supplying the hot food this week…and BIG O Pizza (woodfired!) are on their way to us …hopefully arriving later this month. Sweet and Savory will be busy in their new cafe this season, but still hope to make an appearance . Kevin Shay Johnson plays his own brand of great music this weekend..sit and listen, enjoy some food and drink..relax while you shop:)

We’ll have the kids POP Club going…$2 to every kid (ages 5-12) to shop for fresh produce, a $5 Match for anyone using the OR Trail card..plus you can buy market tokens with your Debit card if you run out of checks. Don’t miss out on all the new fun stores downtown has to offer…shop local for gifts this season.

To make a donation, visit any Clackamas Federal Credit Union. You can also make a donation to the fund at the Market this Saturday . Find the donation box at the Info Booth. In addition if you would like to contribute as you shop we will be putting together a gift basket of Farmers Market products for his wife and  family , please sign the card too. Our hearts go out to the family and all the members of the OCPD and we thank them for their service.

The market accepts cash, debit, EBT (SNAP) and P-EBT cards. WIC and Senior Farm Direct checks are accepted by all produce vendors and expire on Nov 30th each year. Stop by our information booth for information.
