Last Market Downtown!

By 16 April 2015

IMG_896412646469328We’re leaving with a party! Come to market this Saturday April 18th and help us celebrate the last Winter Market Downtown. Find us on 8th St at Main one last time before we move to the main market site on the ‘hill’ , where we open the summer market on Saturday May 2nd. This will be our permanent home year-round now. The 2015 Summer season will roll right in to the 2015/16 Winter season in the SAME  location, 2051 Kaen Rd…with plenty of close easy parking allowing us the space to grow the winter market!
DrinkaBeerOnlineThis weekend looks to be a rare summertime-in-spring weekend with plenty of sun and warm weather, perfect for enjoying the outdoors.  To celebrate, Green Card Salsa will be kicking off a series of Beer Garden Benefits at the Market to support the efforts of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Swing by their regular booth to grab a pint of some excellent local brews and tasty food, with 100% of sales going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! G Gourmet is back with BBQ and sausages…and Stone Barn Brandy Works and Kings Raven Winery will be giving samples…live music too …yup , it’s a party!

DSC02306This Saturday we will have plenty of spring greens, radishes, onions, potatoes and more…even STRAWBERRIES! (Grown by RJ Farms in hoophouses)…also PLENTY of farm-fresh hens eggs from RJ Farms….the hens are raised completely on pasture that is rotated, allowing them to eat the spring grasses and weeds that contain so much nutrition! Plus Caldwell Family farm will have duck eggs and find pastured meats from Sweet Home Farms and locally cured pork products from Shy Ann Meats too. Wild mushrooms, nettles, fiddlehead ferns, baked goods, preserves, nut butters, granola, candles, honey, spring flowers and more….25 vendors!

Grab a couple of bunches..make someone's day!

Want your own eggs for breakfast? Flock In A Box will be at the Market with tons of chicken-keeping education and demonstration hens. They will be taking orders for teenage chickens (pullets) which are ready later this month…no need to have the babies under heat-lamps as they ‘grow’ them for you. Stop by and see Tonya Saturday to place an order.

This weekend will be a perfect time to get the “kitchen garden” planted and three farms will have loads of spring veggies and herb starts……but don’t be looking for Tomato and Pepper starts  or basil……it’s still too early! Master Gardeners will be there to answer questions….and get those garden tools ready, Sir Sharp-A-Lot will be back at the main market May 2nd.

2015-posterWe accept Debit and SNAP..with a $5 SNAP Match thanks to the Oregon City’s Rotary Club Foundation’s generous donation. The Kids POP Club (Power Of Produce) gives kids (5-12yrs) $2 to shop for fresh produce and veggie starts! Get ’em growing a garden this summer.

Thanks for all your support this Winter our customers are THE best! We look forward to starting the bigger summer market May 2nd on the ‘hill’ and celebrating our 10th Year Anniversary…won’t you join us?!
