Kiyokawa Family Orchards Returns

By 22 July 2021

What’s New At The Market!

Even though the weather forecast is scheduled to be only 90 degrees, our market site gets extremely hot since we lost our shade trees from the ice storm. The safety of our vendors, customers and staff comes first so we will be closing at 1:30 on Saturday. We appreciate your understanding!

We are excited to welcome Kiyokawa Family Orchards back to the market this Saturday for their summer debut!  Plan on cherries, pie cherries, peaches and more. Due to staffing, Kiyokawa will join us every other week so take advantage of their offerings when they’re at the market.

In addition to Kiyokawa, we are happy to welcome back the following vendors:
Esotico Pasta
Coyote Ridge Farm
Sidekick Provisions
Coin Toss Brewing
Durant Olive Oil
Karla’s Green Glass Designs
Stillweather Spirits
Roundhouse Foods
503 Distilling
Straightaway Cocktails

We will have plenty of peaches, apricots, cherries, berries, fresh greens and loads of newly harvested produce for you to enjoy. Have fun choosing your summer menu at the market and don’t forget all the delicious side dishes available from our local makers!

Enjoy samples and tastings from our distilleries, wineries and breweries on Saturday. We have a robust group of local favorites coming well stocked for your enjoyment.

Don’t forget to stop by with your kiddos ages 5-12 and sign up for our Power of Produce Club. We will have tokens to hand out for fruits and veggies, tote bags and a fun Farmers Market Bingo activity to fill out while you’re shopping!

The Steve and Margot Show kicked off our summer music series and now that we’ve dusted off the cobwebs from our musical hiatus, they have agreed to return this Saturday! A fun market favorite, you won’t want to miss their Americana musical stylings that appeal to all ages.

An important update on RJ Farms:
RJ Farms is taking a well deserved vacation and will be absent from our July 24th and 31st markets. We wish them a time of rest and relaxation. Of course, we can’t wait for them to return!

This week’s farm feature is Zach and Christine Menchini of Campfire Farms. Read the latest coming from their farm this Saturday.

Check out our list of attending vendors this week and we thank you for your continued support of small farms and businesses!

We are conveniently located at 2051 Kaen Rd (at the corner of Kaen and Beavercreek Roads) here in Oregon City
See you Saturday from 9-1:30!

Did you know that chicken is seasonal? Christina from Campfire Farms shared some valuable info with us from their farm in Mulino.

“We raise all of our chicken for the year between March and October because they don’t grow in the winter here in Oregon- they spend all of their calories just staying warm.

Also, our poultry processor is a closed system, meaning all of the waste from processing is composted and applied to their fields as fertilizer, but they can only do that while the grass is growing.
Since it is dormant in the winter, they can’t apply the waste and thus, aren’t allowed to process”

Campfire Farms is fully stocked on chicken right now and have opened up bulk ordering again on their website. www.campfirefarms.com

Check out this amazing Goddess Curry Chicken Salad Recipe – Pinch of Yum using Spice Pilgrim’s curry powder!

Don’t forget! SNAP recipients can receive up to a 20.00 match with each market visit thanks to the generous grant funding from The Farmers Market Fund and the City of Oregon City

Simply bring your EBT card to the Information Booth at the market and we’ll do the rest. Enjoy extra funds for fresh locally grown foods!
