Join us for the Householding Fair and see what fun stuff the Portland Homestead Store has for your urban homestead, come meet the gals who run NW Ferments right here in OC and check out Harriet Fassenfest’s ground-breaking book, The Householders Guide the Universe, meet the author and get it signed! Out Of Ashes Permaculture group will have their class schedule and ideas for turning your landscape into food for you and wildlife. Clackamas County’s Office of Sustainability are bringing samples of natural ant-killer and green cleaners, the County’s Soil and Water District will advise you on capturing rain-water for irrigation and show how using native plants in your landscape can cut down your water bill. Join the Master Gardeners at 10am for a talk on growing your own food! Flock in a box will have live chickens for sale (bring a cardboard box !) and you can watch the fiber spinners at their craft.
The Market has plenty of gift ideas for Dad this weekend. Treat that favorite man in the family to a fruit pie from the Pie Guy, buy him a wedge of Cada Dia Aged Cheddar, add a crusty loaf and select a good bottle of local wine! Thomas and Sons Distillery hand-crafted spirits are good straight or mixed into cocktails and Life Style Massage will have gift cards for sale. Fire up the grill and surprise him with some of the earliest local-caught TUNA ever! Birkeland Farms has pasture-raised beef and chickens, whole or in pieces…..perfect for grilling. Shy Ann Meats sausages and bacon are a Father’s Day breakfast must-have:)
The POP Club kids are cooking again with Chef Amy from 9.45am on. Back this week is Diana’s Delights with jams, relishes, chutneys, lemon curd, Maggys Farm with veggie and herb starts, Cada Dia Cheese , Simington Gardens with Certified Organic produce and Souper Natural’s tasty soups that make dinner easy. Out this week are Scratch Meats and Hill Tree Farm.
