One of our favorite market days all year is coming up this Saturday..the Thanksgiving Market! Find us on 8th St at Main, 10am-2pm THIS Saturday, Nov. 22nd. Nothing better than loading the table next Thursday with locally grown, raised, and created foods. We have the BIGGEST Winter Market yet ….32 vendors for your shopping pleasure! Hot food and great music by Kevin Shay Johnson plus a surprise at 11am!

Kiyokawa Orchards are bringing many kinds of Apples and Pears , favorites and heirlooms…and Pitkin Winterrowd Farms will have Quince. Cook this specialty fruit with apples, raisins, cinnamom and a teaspoon of sugar for a wonderful side dish at Thanksgiving. Ask Tom at the market for more details.

We may not have any turkeys for sale (I know, I know) BUT Sweet Home Farm will be bringing Hams (about 5-7lbs each). Both Smoked Ham Hocks and Classic Ham roasts will be available. Daniel will also have goat, beef and Whole Chickens, ranging from 3.5 – 5+ lbs each, $4.95/lb and with 10% off with any pre order request on facebook (sweethomemeats) or by email  sweethomemeats@gmail.com . Who says it HAS to be a turkey….or even meats ?Wild Oregon Seafood will have other choices including Crab, Ling Cod, Chinook, Albacore, Halibut and more.

Ummm, can’t you smell it now? Vul Coffee Roasters will be serving drinks from the espresso machine along with the standard pour-overs and French Press coffee. Bags of fresh roasted whole beans will be available too. Stop by and enjoy a Latte, Cappuccino, Hot Chocolate or the seasonal Egg Nog Latte while you stroll the market! La Provence Bakery is back for the winter season with delicious pastries and crusty breads ..and at the White Rabbit Bakery booth you can  place your Thanksgiving orders for gluten free pies and dinner rolls! The bakery is OPEN Thanksgiving morning (in Aurora) so your order will be at it’s freshest for your big meal.

Oooh and Bliss Nut Butter has Oregon Hazelnut Butter , perfect accompaniment to the fall dinner! Goes great with a cheese plate, baked on squash or added to your favorite desert. Yup there’s a bite in the air, the leaves have fallen, and turkeys all over the country are getting a weeee bit nervous! At Green Card Salsa they’ve been busy pilgrims making enough Habanberry Salsa (Orange, Cranberry) for all your dining tables and left-over turkey sandwiches. And don’t forget to pick up a few pints for some cold weather football parties… it’s Civil War time after all!

Did we mention this is a BIG Winter Market? 32 vendors are setting up this Saturday….for baking we’ll have PLENTY of Eggs, local Milk and the BEST Yoghurt! Plus local Honey (the whipped honey is heaven) , Kings Raven Wines and lot’s of Wild Mushrooms! Blossom Vinegars are back, fruit vinegars and drinking vinegars (personal fave) A teaspoon or two in a glass of sparkling water is not only super healthy for you but makes a refreshing”mocktail”……

Egdemaster Sharpening will be having a $2  special on pocket knives…but don’t forget those carving knives too! Hillcrest Nursery will have stunning Fall Planters for the porch or a hostess gift..and it’s not too early to start looking at the crafts in the Market for gift ideas. Home Grown Harvest will have the first wreaths, all made by Amy and her family…and you can order a Christmas tree…she’s bringing them next market, Dec. 6th.

The market accepts cash, debit, EBT (SNAP) and P-EBT cards. WIC and Senior Farm Direct checks are accepted by all produce vendors and expire on Nov 30th each year. Stop by our information booth for information.
