Making a list and checking it twice? We’ll have the biggest EVER Holiday Market this Saturday…no excuses this year we’ll have almost everything you need to serve local foods this Christmas! 30 canopies will set up on 8th St at Main on Dec. 21st. we open at 10am…close at 2pm.

2013-12-11 11.32.03Get in the spirit while you shop…we’ll have the Dolce Vita Choir from the OC High School (angel voices !) singing around 11am and the New History Minstrels will invite you to sing along at 12.30! Radio Disney will have a kid’s activity…and we still have the POP (Power Of Produce) Club going for the kids all through the Winter, so bring your children (5-12yrs) and they receive $2 to buy fresh produce every time they come to Market! We accept SNAP (and have a $5 match) and Debit…our tokens make great gifts for those hard-to-buy-for folks.

Crisp, fresh and tasty produce…oh my!.. those carrots right now after the freeze are SO sweet! We’ll have a really good selection of produce…too much to list here. For those of you having beef this holidays, try  making your own horseradish sauce (we’ll have fresh this Sat. from Maggy’s Farm) Here’s a recipe for it (Dijon mustard is not necessary if you don’t have any). http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/horseradish-cream-sauce-recipe/index.html You can use it on sandwiches too to add some heat, so good for the sinuses!

Sweet Home Farm Meats will have roasts of every kind….beef, lamb, pork, goat and chicken…and new Morroccan sausages, lamb pepperoni and German sausage too. Shy Ann Meats joins us this week with processed pork products….Phil will have a great selection of different flavored bacons, sausages and smoked pork chops. RJ Farms will have eggs and Wild Oregon Seafood will have lots to choose from including FRESH:  Dark Blotch usually mixed in with the “red rockfish’’, Black Cod, and Steelhead first of the season Oregon Dungeness Crab, Netarts Oysters, Steamer clams and Shrimp for shellfish.  Special treats will be their Smoked Chinook Spread and delicous Crab Cakes. If you have a sizable request or you’d like anything held for you, best to text or call Robin at 503.591.7795.

We’ll have trees and wreaths, greenery, cute Reindeer (you replace their antlers each year with fresh greens!..everyone loved them last week!) Frozen soups to help you cater through the holidays,kombucha, caramels and brittles (new vendor), locally roasted coffee and drinks, vinegars, drinking vinegars and chocolate truffles, salsa, hummus, dog treats, baked goods, preserves , pickles and jams, local wines (starting next month ..CIDER too!), soaps and lotions and body butters, beautiful knitted gloves, hats and turned wood products, hazelnut shells and squirrel food…and more!

This will be the last Market of 2013, we open again Sat. Jan. 4th at 10am…for the 2014 season…whoo hoo! Thanking our wonderful customers for all your support, kind words and notes throughout the 2013 (56 markets!) . We could not do it without immense support from the incredible board and volunteers, and the hundreds (if not thousands) of volunteer hours they give to the Market…so THANK YOU Jeff, Jeanne, Amber, Elizabeth, Eben, Susan, Christie, Barb, Lynda, Gail, Chip, Seth, Paul, Bonnie, Marcus, Phil, Vicki, Tony, Karen, Amy, Tim, Kelly (and all the OSU Extension Master Food Preservers and Master Gardeners), OC Lions Club and OC’s On Point Community Credit Union branch staff …you all ROCK!!!!

The market accepts cash, debit, EBT (SNAP) and P-EBT cards. WIC and Senior Farm Direct checks are accepted by all produce vendors and expire on Nov 30th each year. Stop by our information booth for information.
