Celebrate National Farmers Market Week!

By 3 August 2017

Get your Tattoo this week at the                   Information Booth!

Yes there is even a week to celebrate farmers markets. Join us this Saturday and celebrate by wearing a free I Heart Farmers Markets temporary tattoo~! Get them while you can from us at the Info Booth, we’ll even apply it for you:) Proudly proclaim your love of Fresh and Local and let the farmers know you support them! In addition the POP (Power Of Produce) Club is holding “Favorite Farmer Day”. Kids get to make 2 buttons they design, keep one and give one to their fave farmer. We honor the Favorite Farmer at the end of the Market and take their photo…..it’s a lot of fun:)

All the local produce is now showing up! Buy extra and preserve the bounty:)

The BBQ is probably getting a workout this summer…keep it up! We have three farms with local pastured (grass-fed) meats this week, seafood coming from the coast, plus a great selection of local veggies for the grill….although the greens may have taken a beating with the crazy hot temps. Spear and Arrow have a good selection of ghee or clarified butter for basting and check out the Spice Pilgrims rubs! Berries are still available, plus peaches, nectarines, cherries and melons. Watch Chef Amy fix a delicious cucumber salad in the Market kitchen and pick up a recipe. We’ll have both goats and cows cheese, crusty breads (from La Provence and Grano bakeries) and plenty of pickled products from Birkeland Farm and Pam’s Pickled Products. Pop a bottle of cold white wine in the fridge,(Kings Raven and Forest Edge) , pick up a fruit pie from The Pie Guy and you are all set!

Fresh market flower bouquets…treat yourself!

WIC is here again this week giving out coupons for fresh produce, if you know someone who is registered with WIC, please help us spread the word. ‘In’ this week is Forest to Shore with cute arrangements of succulents on drift wood, and Sweet Chaos bakery with multiple types of brownies! ‘Out’ this week is Cultured Aromatics, Papparadelle’s Market Pasta and Olympia Provisions…all back next week. We’ll have cool tunes from Kevin Shay Johnson from 10am-1.30pm, plenty of ready to eat foods, and cold drinks. Next week is Bike To Market Day, with bike parking supplied by the Bike Concierge and $5 bike helmets from Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center! FYI: Bloodworks NW will be having a blood drive on Saturday August 19th at the Market…with a coupon for a FREE pint of Snoqualmie Ice Cream if you pre-register: https://schedule.psbc.org/DonorPortal/GroupLanding.aspx?s=4381
