We’ll set up the 6th Christmas Market this Saturday, December 19th, 10am-2pm on the parking lot at 2051, Kaen Rd, off Beavercreek Rd. 35 vendors, plenty of fresh produce, meats, cheese, eggs (hen and duck), baked goods, pies, artisan foods, ice-cream, pickles and preserves…even fresh greenery, wreaths and trees! Plus plenty of ‘gifty’ ideas from our craftsmen vendors. Hot food, live music too. Plenty of close parking, Debit and SNAP cards accepted with a $10 SNAP Match! Kids (5-12yrs) get $2 to buy fresh produce….and on top of all that we’re having a food drive for the OC Food Bank!   FYI: Too rough offshore for fresh seafood this Saturday. Wild Oregon will do a special ‘Pre-Order Only’  drop on Christmas Eve. at the market site. Expect crab, mussels, clams, salmon. New to the market, Sun Love Farms is right here in Oregon City, Certfied Naturally Grown, with beautiful produce, ketchup, sau

New to us this winter is Sun Love Farms (Oregon City), Certified Naturally Grown produce, heirloom tomato ketchup, sauerkraut, hot pepper powder and duck eggs. Stop by and give Melissa a warm welcome!

5 farms are bringing fresh produce, look for carrots, spinach, lettuce,  radishes, winter squash (including heirloom varieties and Delicata), onions, cilantro, collards, kale, cabbages (regular, savoy and red), salad mix, chicory salad mix, fresh herbs (sage, parsley, savory), mizuna, arugula, parsnips, turnips, garlic and leeks. This will be the last market till July for Kiyokawa Orchards. The fruit crop was much less this year due to heat and drought. Stock up , Randy Kiyokawa is sending plenty of both apples and pears. Pear and cheese on some fresh salad mix  with toasted pecans or walnuts would make a great looking plate this Holiday!

Don’t forget Deck Family Farm when Decking Your Halls! They will have a great selection of pastured, certified Organic meats.  Special for the Holidays….Turkey’s $4.00 per pound and New York, Tenderloin and Rib Eye Steaks  $15.00 per pound while supplies last. They also have sausages, bacon, and stew meat as well as ground beef, pork and lamb.

Bring your coolers! Creambowle is coming with  their delicious ice cream in Holiday flavors…. Peppermint Patti, Bourbon Pecan Brittle, Eggnog, Vanilla Bean, Cinnamon & More! Grab a container for your freezer. Next door to them is The Pie Guy…many different fruit pies, plus , especially for Christmas, Eggnog, Caramel Apple with Cranberries and Chocolate Hazelnut. These all refrigerate well, or you can freeze. Made with a butter crust, they come in family size or single person size! Looking for help with meals this busy season?…Sara’s Tamales has packs you can take home frozen as well as taste at the Market….her cheese and spinach is a personal fave!  Same goes for Scratch Meats. They handcraft their sausages and you can eat a sandwich at the Market and/or take home frozen packs for later meals.

Kings Raven Winery has some good buys this weekend. They have 3 red wines , 2012 Marechal Foch, 2012 Leon Millot (on sale) and 2012 Pinot Noir. Plus 3  white wines, 2013 Pinot Gris (on sale), 2014 Ravens Sun Blend and 2014 Sweet Ravens Sun Blend (on sale) …for a truly local bottle of wine this Christmas!

Haute Candles have chemical -free candles with fantastic scents, Ess organic skin care have all kinds of boxed gifts …..Spindles and Fiber will have Carl’s beautiful handcrafted wooden serving boards, utensils, wine stoppers and more. Judy has gloves, scarves knitted and spun from her own fiber. Sample body care products from JK Goats and Daisy Fed soaps. Homegrown harvest will bring a nice selection of small, “table top” trees as well as some larger trees….wreaths and swags too!

The Kids POP (Power of Produce) Club gives kids (ages 5-12yrs) $2 every time they come to a market, plus on registering they get a re-usable POP shopping bag too! We’re still collecting food and toiletry donations for the OC Food Bank, look for the green bin by the Information Booth.

THANK YOU for a fantastic year…we love our customers! The Market put on 11 events, celebrated the 10th Anniversary, held cooking demos every day, and well over 1,400 kids showed up (again) for the POP Club! AND we’re real happy to continue into next year with a $10 SNAP Match. More fun is being planned already for 2016!! A big shout out and HUGE thanks to all our wonderful volunteers and Board members…. you know who you are, couldn’t do it without you. If you see them at the Market , give them a high five! Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and Keep It Local!

The market accepts cash, debit, EBT (SNAP) and P-EBT cards. WIC and Senior Farm Direct checks are accepted by all produce vendors and expire on Nov 30th each year. Stop by our information booth for information.
