       Beautiful peppers from Parsons Farms

Nothing says Fall like hot apple cider and you’ll get a cup freshly pressed this Saturday! It’s the annual Kids Cider-Pressing event so bring the family and enjoy the colors, sights, sounds and tastes of market day! The kids get to throw the apples in the hopper and turn the screw, squeezing out the juice. OSU Extension Master Food Preservers heat the juice to pasteurize it and serve it hot to all! Thanks goes out to Parsons Farms and Kiyokawa Orchards for donating the apples this year. They are sending a mix of varieties so the flavor should be amazing. Last year we gave out 400 cups….wowwee!

Fall squashes, potatoes, greens, cabbage, apples, pears abound, as well as the last of the summer peppers, tomatoes, corn, peaches, it really is the most beautiful time of the year at the Market. If you have questions about preserving the ladies at the Apple-Pressing will have answers. Back this week is As Iron Sharpens Iron, for all of you who have disappointed these past two weeks…he is BACK! So is TMK Creamery, joining Windy Acres Dairy , both with cheddar, cheese curds and other delectables. Skamokawa Farmstead Creamery has multiple flavors of chevre as well as the delicious Cajeta, a slow cooked caramel sauce made from goats milk that is heaven drizzled on the last of the peaches…grilled.

We have three more Summer Season markets after this week and end the season on October 28th…BUT the very next Saturday we open for the Winter Season (our 7th!!) and run every other weekend through April….weather permitting.
