What’s In Season At The Market

By 7 July 2021

Our record breaking heat wave took it’s toll on our farms.

Once again, our farmers were forced to fight yet another obstacle, in the form of heat. Many berries and cherries were damaged from the sun’s unrelenting rays but as usual, our farms are working to rally back.

RJ Farms had to take last Saturday off to deal with the aftermath of the heat’s damage to their produce. We are happy to report they plan to return this Saturday!

We are excited to welcome back our summer music program this week! Kicking it off will be The Steve and Margot Show, a long time favorite of the market. Leaning towards an Americana sound, they connect with audiences through a wide variety of music, humorous storytelling and a down-home rapport. Their show is interactive, encouraging sing-a-longs and requests… as long as they know the songs!

While our POP Club (kid’s power of produce) looks different in terms of the format this season, we are still offering tokens and take home activities for age 5-12. Tokens earned may be used for fruit and vegetables only. This week we have a take home “Make Your Own Spice” kit which will allow kids to create a much healthier version of Ranch dip seasoning. Make sure to bring your kiddos by the Info Booth to pick one up.

This week you can find blueberries, blackberries, early peaches and summer squash, cherries, cauliflower and broccoli, carrots and beets, cucumbers, mixed greens, green beans, early tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, red potatoes and microgreens. July’s bounty is full!

65 vendors are scheduled to attend so make the market a part of your weekend. As always, through good times and bad, our customers show up and support. For this we are incredibly grateful.

Find us at 2051 Kaen Rd (corner of Kaen and Beavercreek Rds) in Oregon City from 9-2 pm.

See you Saturday!

We are so proud to be part of the Certified Naturally Grown Guide to Exceptional Markets and support a community of growers and producers who use natural practices, without any synthetic chemicals or GMOs, to produce food for our local communities.

We want to acknowledge our CNG farms and thank them for feeding our communities with nutrient dense produce!
