As morning clouds give way to sunny afternoons, we’re reminded of the changing seasons.
Summer is coming to a close, which means its time to prepare for the fall and winter months. Our farmers are in fall planting mode while still harvesting late summer produce.
Berries are still here but apple and pear varieties are quickly taking their place. Late season tomatoes are bursting with flavor and colorful peppers fill our farmer’s baskets.
Root veggies will begin to take front and center stage along with delicious squash, perfect for roasting.
Each week we are going to see larger displays of pumpkins and the smells of fresh roasting nuts in the market will beckon the thought of warm meals and cozy blankets!
We can find comfort in the beauty of the season and autumnal colors. While it’s difficult to predict what our colder season will bring us, the thought of slowing down can be a relief for many.
We hope you will join us as we move through the seasons. In case you forget, our market is year round which means you can enjoy fresh locally grown foods and produce, even in December! Mark your calendars now and plan to join us for our Harvest Market on November 20th and our Holiday Market on December 18th.
Don’t forget to stop by our info booth for a winter schedule bookmark so you can be reminded of our winter market dates!
Find us this Saturday from 9-2 at 2051 Kaen Rd (corner of Kaen and Beavercreek Roads) in Oregon City.
See you at the market! |
