Welcome Spring!

The days are lengthening, daffodils are in bloom, veggie starts are cropping up and the market suddenly has a huge supply of eggs! Spring is officially here and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome a new season.

In addition to a beautiful market forecast, we have a delicious line up of vendors. Since we won’t have a market on Easter weekend, this is the time to stock up on some favorites. We have 56 vendors this week with some returning artisans such as Carl from CH Woodcraft, Sawdusters with hand crafted bird feeders to delight our feathered friends, My Copper Heart with beautiful, hand forged jewelry using upcycled materials and Spice Pilgrim with pungent, freshly ground spices and teas! Also, Farm D’ICI is back for the season with Certified Organic Produce!

Don’t forget to stop by the info booth to pick up our summer season fridge magnet, bookmarks, Green Living Journals, guides for naturally dyeing Easter eggs and insulated shopping bags! We have a 20.00 match for our SNAP customers as well.

Read on for all the market details, a natural egg dye recipe, attending vendors and what’s in season this week.

See you Saturday!

Noemie from Farm D’ICI kicks off her market season this Saturday. We have missed both her and all the delicious produce she grows. Come visit her booth for lots of fresh, certified organic kale, mustard greens, mixed lettuce, green garlic and even some spinach!
Campfire Farms, a small producer of pasture raised pork and poultry, will have Easter hams ranging in size from 2-3 lbs this week. These are excellent served as the main course or added to a variety of dishes such as fluffy omelettes, beans, sauteed fresh veggies or sandwiches.

Fisher Ridge Farm plans on bringing boneless leg of lamb and smoked hams this week as well! You can place your order from Fisher Ridge right from the convenience of our pre-order app, What’s Good Marketplace for easy pick-up!

First time customers (using the app for the first time) can receive 50% off entire order. Use the coupon code DW6PFM at checkout

Can you believe the size of these eggs? Sandy Bluff Farms currently has goose eggs available (in addition to plenty of pastured eggs!) How fun to add these to your egg dyeing tradition. There are loads of ways to create naturally dyed eggs without the use of chemically laden food dyes. Simple ingredients such as onion skins and coffee grounds go a long way in achieving unique and beautiful color schemes. What a great way to use up some compost!

Check out this recipe to make your own dyes and have fun experimenting with new colors!
