Small but Mighty!

By 25 July 2024

We’re at the part of summer where cherry tomatoes overflow our farmer’s stalls.

These little gems are not to be missed! Considered the precursor to the meaty heirlooms and slicers coming our way, cherry tomatoes are easy for snacking, salads, tossing into pastas and sautéing. They may be small, but their flavor is mighty which only adds to their versatility.

Fulton Farms brought a large cooler of corn last Saturday and it was gone in minutes. Grown on their farm in Dayton the heat between the coast and the valley makes it optimal for an early crop this year. RJ Farms will soon follow suit, along with Pheasant’s Eye Farm.

We’re excited to welcome a new urban flower farm, The Mustering Place. Katie grows specialty blooms on her .4-acre micro home farm in Gladstone and will be offering hand-tied seasonal bouquets at the market. Katie’s bouquets are innovative and unique, celebrating seasonal blooms that thrive in Oregon’s climate.
Make sure to visit her Instagram Katie Hunt | Portland Area Fresh Flowers (@themusteringplace) • Instagram photos and videos and give her a follow. Find Katie this Saturday next to South Barlow Berries!

We want to thank all of you for the huge outpouring of support at last week’s market! Thank you for coming out to see performer, Red Yarn, visiting our Chef’s Demo, shopping with SNAP benefits and choosing to support local with your grocery budget. We appreciate you!
