Sweet little spring radishes coming from Farm D’ICI in Canby this week.

A sunny dry day, a Seed Swap and more veggies at this Saturday’s Market! Joining us this week and into the summer is a new Certified Organic farm from Canby, Farm D’ICI, bringing radishes, arugula, baby beets and mixed mustard salad greens.  Brown Bottle Farm (Certified Naturally Grown) will have some wild edibles including nettles, and fiddlehead ferns as well as their greens, Oyster mushrooms, sipping vinegar, smoked pepper salts and duck eggs. Sunlove Farm (Certified Naturally Grown) will be picking cilantro, mizuna, mustard greens, kale, raab, chives, nettles. Daffodils wil brighten up the booth at RJ Farms, plus they’ll have kale, chard, potatoes, onions and hens eggs.

Can’t you just smell the sweet orange and bergamot in this body butter by Landia?

Have you found Landia Skin Care yet? This OChone-grown business has vegan skin products handmade with botanical ingredients to feed your skin. This Saturday is the last day to get their Bliss Body Butter: Sweet orange and begamot, shea butter and Sunflower oil, raw sugar and coconut. Just add a splash of water to exfoliate, soften and moisturize. This is only made 3 times a year and they just finished their last batch until next December. Smells like heaven!

Enjoyed the day at the State Capitol yesterday, impressing on elected officials the importance for supporting small Oregon farmers! OCFM is back and center with the DUFB sign! #smallfarmersmeanbusiness!

We welcome back Maggys Farm (with a selection of over-wintered herbs, figs, Mirabelle plums, thornless blackberries, gooseberries, grapes and oddities) and Ten Oaks Nursery with perrenials. K Bees are coming with Mason Bee Houses and live bees too. These native bees are astonishing pollinators in your garden. The tiny bees are gentle and rarely sting, just one can pollinate a whole apple tree! Karel will explain how to keep them and can set you up with a backyard hive. https://www.parentmap.com/article/keeping-mason-bees-10-expert-tips-for-families Sawbusters will have bee houses too, plus bird feeders and bird houses.

We have lots of great seeds to share with you this Saturday, plus seeds are coming from the Oak Grove Seed Library!

The annual Seed Swap is manned by OSU Extension Master Gardener volunteers, so bring your spring garden questions to them and take some packets home, even if you don’t have any to bring. No plants thank you and we are trying to stop the spread of the invasive Asian Jumping Worm, already found in Clackamas County. Kids can pot up a pea to sprout and grow on:)

RJ Farm’s Daffodils….pick up a bunch on Saturday.

42 vendors this Saturday, our biggest market so far this ‘winter’ season. No knife-sharpening yet, Bob is back in May. So is Wild Oregon Seafood, Grano Bakery, (Certified Naturally Grown) Coyote Ridge Farm and many other regulars. Fresh flowers are coming in April….promise! Fancy a pastrami and arugula/hazelnut pesto crepe? You can get one of these chef’s specials at the Cafe de Crepe food truck this week, while you rock out to Jesse Rae (Roots Pop with a Blues edge!).  It’s going to be a party…. see ya there!
