Mother’s Day Gift Guide At The Market
Traditionally Mother’s Day weekend is the busiest market of the season! Well, we are anything but traditional these days but we won’t be hindered! Our desire to bring fresh food to Oregon City and beyond has only deepened.
On behalf of the market I would like to, once again, applaud our customers for their unwavering support. Showing up in the pouring rain last weekend bringing happy smiles and friendly waves was so appreciated. We love our community and we thank you for standing with us during these days of uncertainty. We continue with our drive thru format and appreciate your patience. We will keep you updated with any changes in our operation. The safety of our customers and vendors is foremost in our minds and we continue to exercise extreme caution with social distancing, disinfecting, handwashing and wearing masks.
Mother’s Day is Sunday and we have a fantastic lineup of vendors for you to shop from. Many will be dropping off orders for pickup and many will be setting up. Either way, be sure to download the app and get your orders in by the cut off time of 11PM Thursday night.
The forecast looks beautiful. Sounds like a great day for a little drive to the market to stock up on goodies for the special women in your life. One stop shop at the market is all you need to bring joy to mom.
If you’re thinking about serving a Sunday brunch, I have good news. La Provence is back at the market this weekend! They are not on the app so be patient as this will be their first weekend in our new drive thru format. Victoria will be bringing all the familiar favorites you have been missing so plan to purchase a selection.
Grano will be here with beautiful artisan loaves of bread, croissants and favorite pastries (Morning Bun, anyone?) I admit, I’ve already ordered mine for my market day treat.
Check out Small Baking Company on the app. Joanna is offering both sweet and savory options, plus scones. How nice would it be to gift Mom with a jar of fresh lemon curd from Diana’s Delights alongside some fresh scones?
Pie is always a sure thing and Bart from The Pie Guy is here to make your dreams come true with his fresh fruit pies and all butter crumb topping. Bart will have some pies available for on site purchase but pre ordering is highly recommended! They go quick, just ask our local fire department who are avid fans of Bart’s pies!
Robin from Wild Oregon is bringing her amazing fresh seafood. This weekend her menu features fresh Chinook. If you’re thinking of heating up the grill I would make sure Chinook is on the menu.
Speaking of grilling, why not BBQ for mom? Campfire Farms will be here with their pasture raised pork and poultry. While you’re at it, grill up some fresh asparagus from RJ Farms or Pheasant’s Eye. I love it grilled with coarse salt, Durant Olive Oil, fresh ground pepper and some fresh lemon juice. The smokiness paired with a citrusy finish is a simple delight.
If mom enjoys a cocktail (or 2) I suggest checking out Stillweather Spirits as they make their return to summer market. Jan with Forest Ridge will have some lovely wines available. Trail Distilling and 503 Distilling are doing home delivery! Talk about a welcome surprise on your doorstep.
We have an incredible line up of flower vendors this Saturday. Pre-Order is heavily encouraged although I’ve been assured there will be plenty of bountiful bouquets available for onsite purchase. May’s Flowers and Produce, Hill Tree Garden, Lee Gardens and S&K Nursery will be bringing a huge supply of their gorgeous hanging baskets.
Our market is lucky to have some amazing artisans and this weekend will be a great time to take advantage of their talented offerings. Have you seen Sew Silly’s creations? Check out her variety of pocket totes. Handcrafted, locally sourced material (I’m looking at you, Pendleton Wool) are all available on our app!
For the self care conscious mama, look no further than The Wilderness Maven’s gorgeous small batch wellness and herbal products. Jenn sources all of her ingredients from the ground. Lavender, Chamomile and Calendula are just a few of the high quality, sustainably grown herbs from her garden. For the gardener in your life make sure to check out some of her Farmhouse Salve, wonderfully soothing for hard working hands. Jenn’s products are available on our app for Saturday pickup.
Sudsy Elements has Mom covered for artisanal bath and body products. Michelle’s hand crafted fragrant vegan soaps and bath bombs will make the entire house smell like a spa (ask me how I know).
Kathy from Landia Skincare handcrafts an organic, vegan, cruelty and toxin free skincare line that will leave your skin the healthiest it’s ever been. A gift from Landia is a great way to become Mom’s favorite.
Lavish Lavender has Lavender – Vanilla syrup. Add to whipped cream or drizzle over cake layers and top with fresh berries. Make a cake that Mom will always remember
Remember we open at 9am now that May has arrived. We will have signs up to direct you through the vendor lot and plenty of our amazing volunteers to help! We ask that you pop your trunk when you arrive and please refrain from exiting your vehicle. Please adhere to our safety signs so that everyone can enjoy the market, even while in the car. Make sure to follow us on social media and sign up for our newsletter for the latest updates.
“We are born of love; Love is our Mother.”
On a personal note, please let me extend my wishes for a restful Mother’s Day
