Memorial Weekend Market

By 26 May 2021

64 Vendors Will Be Joining Us This Week

Memorial Weekend signifies the beginning of summer and this year the weather is cooperating. With an exceptional forecast we anticipate a full weekend of enjoying the outdoors. Whether you plan to BBQ, hit the road or work in the yard, make sure to stop by the market first!

Welcome back South Barlow Berries and Albeke Farms! Locally grown berries are becoming more abundant which invites the thought of summery shortcakes. Don’t forget the whipping cream and ice cream from Lady Lane or for a plant based cream option, Mundus Foods.

Shop Campfire and Fisher Ridge Farms. Both have options, such as sausages, for grilling. Don’t forget to add asparagus from Pheasant’s Eye and hearty mushrooms from Mindful Mushrooms to the grill. RJ Farms will have potatoes if potato salad is part of your tradition and The Pie Guy will have lots of fresh berry pies!

Find Lee Gardens, May’s and Hill Tree Garden this week for plenty of bouquets to honor your loved ones this Memorial Day.

We have a special guest! CHOP CHOP Chicken Sundaes will be here this Saturday. Make sure to pick up lunch!

We know so many of you have missed the presence of our kid’s Power Of Produce Club. Due to COVID, all of our programs went on hiatus. As we begin to see a gradual reopening we will be offering a modified POP Club. Since interactive exhibits and activities remain on hold, we will be sending take home, interactive projects for our POP kids. It’s a great way to earn tokens and enjoy some learning opportunities from home.

Kids ages 5-12 can stop by the Info Booth this Saturday to pick up a gardening activity. We will include POP tokens so they can be used for produce and plant starts!

Find us at 2051 Kaen Rd (at the corner of Beavercreek and Kaen Rds) in Oregon City from 9-2pm!

We are so ready for all the berries! South Barlow Berries will be kicking off their berry season right here on Saturday with a favorite variety, Hood! Hood Strawberries are one of the most popular Northwest varieties known for their deep red color and sweet flavor. Excellent for fresh eating, freezing and preserves.

Albeke Farms will also be here! They plan to bring a delicious variety called Shuksan. Named after Mt Shuksan in NW Washington, this variety is also excellent for fresh eating, freezing whole and jam.

Don’t forget to take home a delicious pie from The Pie Guy for your holiday weekend!
SNAP recipients can stop by our information booth with their SNAP card to take advantage of our Double Up Program, thanks to a generous grant from the Farmers Market Fund. In addition, we have a grant from the City of Oregon City which allows us to add an EXTRA 10.00 of funds! This means for every 20.00 you spend on your SNAP card per market visit, we match 20.00!

Our info staff will be happy to provide all the details so stop by our booth at the market.
