In Solidarity

By 3 June 2020

To our community that supports us and who we serve,

The Board and staff of the Oregon City Farmers Market recognize the racial inequities that exist throughout our country. As a justice-centered food access non-profit, we believe nourishment is a basic human right. In the upcoming days, our organization will discuss our role in how we will contribute to righting the racial inequality in our food access systems. We thank you for your support, and, as always look forward to seeing you at this week’s market.

This week we have the privilege of filling the aisles with fresh Hood strawberries. RJ Farms, South Barlow Berries, Farm D’ICI, Pheasant’s Eye, May’s Produce and Albeke Farms will ALL have strawberries this week. It may be scheduled to rain but after last week’s storm we can handle it!

Speaking of this weekend, Oregon City High School will be graduating their 2020 Seniors with a drive thru ceremony. We can relate to the drive thru! Our market wishes to congratulate all the graduates! It’s a year for the record books and we want to acknowledge their resiliency in navigating this unprecedented year. May their futures be bright!

May’s Flowers, Lee’s Garden and Hill Tree Garden will be ready to fill all your bouquet orders for the graduates in your life. Peonies are in season and by the looks of the arrangements I’m seeing, you will be more than pleased!

Have you tried By George’s artisan cheeses yet? In a word, incredible! They will be here each market and we couldn’t be happier. In addition, By George brings their gorgeous Cotswold sheep fiber.
