Holiday Hams are Here!

By 31 March 2022

It’s going to be a beautiful day at the market!

April is shaping up to be a bountiful one at the market. Spring veggies, plant starts, fresh daffodils and tulips plus plenty of locally prepared foods using fresh ingredients will be available this Saturday from 10-2.

If you’re planning on a holiday meal in April, make sure you place your orders for pies and hams now! Both The Pie Guy and Campfire Farms have your main course and dessert covered.

You might be wondering what’s in season during the month of April. Surprisingly, plenty! Here’s just a sample…

Purple Sprouting Broccoli
* Leeks
* Tender little radishes
* Carrots
* Turnips
* Salad and mixed greens
* Braising greens
* Broccoli and Cauliflower (RJ Farms grow these cruciferous crops in one of their greenhouses!)
* Cabbages
* Fresh herbs

The list goes on, but you get the idea!

Don’t forget our 30.00 SNAP match for EBT recipients thanks to the generous grant funding from both The City of Oregon City, The Farmers Market Fund and Local 701 Operating Engineers. We are grateful for their support in securing food access for our community!

Find us at 2051 Kaen Rd (at the corner of Beavercreek and Kaen Roads) this Saturday, April 6th, from 10-2pm.

See you at the market!

Campfire Farms is accepting pre-orders for Easter hams! You can order via email or website and arrange for pick up at our April 2nd or April 16th market. They will also have plenty available onsite for sale.

This year, sizes range from small (2lbs) to medium (4.5lbs) All are smoked and cured, ready to just heat up and serve.

When you purchase local meat from farms such as Campfire, you can be assured livestock has been raised on open pastures, free from the use of growth hormones and inhumane growing practices.

Plant starts in the market is a sure sign spring is in the air. This week we welcome back Maggy’s Farm with their wide variety of Certified Naturally Grown plant starts.
Tim carries a wide selection and can guide you in choosing the right ones for your soil and sun exposure.

Nicki from Storybook Farm will also have spring veggie starts, along with Melissa from Sun Love Farm.

Get your gardening inspiration this week! It’s time to plant!

Make sure you stop by the Info Booth this Saturday for your summer season bookmark!

This year we have added a QR Code you can scan with your phone for latest weather updates that could affect our market hours (extreme wind or heat). The code will lead you directly to our website. You can also sign up for our weekly newsletter which provides all of our market news, vendor updates and what’s in season.

Connect with us and stay updated!

This week our Power of Produce (POP) Club will have fun and fruity tattoo stickers. Make sure your child (ages 5-12) is signed up to enjoy a summer of educational activities! Plus, kids can receive 3.00 in tokens to use on fresh produce and veggie plant starts in the market.
