Giving Thanks For Our Vendors

By 28 October 2021

Have you seen the weather forecast for Saturday’s market?

In addition to the fact Halloween is this weekend, the forecast looks like a sunny one! Plan on attending the market for our last Saturday of summer season. Winter market begins right away on November 6th and our opening time will change to 10am. We have 73 vendors signed up for winter!

Tis the season for roasting veggies and winter squash. Slow roasting allows their flavor to shine, coaxing out a natural sweetness and deep, rich flavor. Eat on their own, add to soups or stews, top on grain bowls or add to mixed green salads. It’s a must have this time of year and our farms are laden with options. Best of all, it’s so easy. Simply cut up roast at 400 degrees, doused in plenty of olive oil, salt and pepper until browned and fork tender.

Make a big batch at the beginning of the week and pull out for easy meal prep. It’s quick way to add nutrient dense foods to your plate.

Here’s some great options from our farms:

Brown Bottle: Rainbow Carrots, Celery, Beets
Wild Roots Farm: Beets, Delicata Squash, Carrots, Onions, Chicories
Coyote Ridge: Parsnips, Kabocha and Butternut squash, Bok Choy
RJ Farms: Brussel Sprouts, Broccoli
Sun Love: Turnips, Beets, Hardy Greens
Farm D’ICI: Eggplant, Potatoes
Mindful Mushrooms: Plenty of mushroom varieties that offer lots of protein and earthy flavors.

Make sure to get your winter market bookmark for all of our market dates. Don’t forget our incredible EBT match of up to 30.00 per market visit!

Also, stop by and vote for your favorite vendor costume on Saturday! We have some fun ones coming your way so get your vote in!

Warm donuts, hot coffee, breakfast burritos, halloween pumpkins and live music from Jeff and Madi will be here! It’s going to a be a great day at the market!

Find us from 9-2 this Saturday at 2051 Kaen Rd (corner of Beavercreek and Kaen Roads) here in Oregon City.

See you soon!

Grano Bakery has faithfully served our community for over 5 years, bringing us delicious artisan breads and pastries. Known for their unique varieties, ranging from a dense Volkenbrot to crusty baguettes, we’ve come to rely on them for our weekly (or daily) bread fix.
Uli and Ava are beloved in our community and we thank them for nourishing us and playing such a vital role in making our market successful.

Sadly, this will be Grano’s last Saturday with us and their business will close on November 1st. We wish them well in their new pursuits and cross our fingers we see them again in perhaps another venture (we can hope, right?)

You can find Grano running a double booth this Saturday with loads of bread and pastries (stock your freezer). There will be plenty for all so please be considerate of how early you arrive and wait for them to open. Setting up in the morning is a very stressful time so we ask for your patience in giving them the space they need in order to serve you quickly and efficiently.

As a market we would like to thank the entire Grano team for feeding our community and adding such a wonderful element to both Oregon City and our market. We wish you the best of luck!

Make sure you get those implements and knives sharpened this weekend! This will be Bob from As Iron Sharpens Iron’s last week before taking a well deserved break over winter.

Can’t make it on Saturday? Bob still does special orders from home and we are happy to share his contact info if needed. Stop by our information booth for details.
