Give the Gift of Local Food this Holiday Season

By 14 December 2022

Our much-anticipated holiday market is this Saturday, Dec 17th!

We are celebrating the season from 10am-2pm and you don’t want to miss it. With fresh greenery, wreaths, gifts, distilled beverages, fresh produce and all the ingredients to make your holiday meals shine, we hope you will make the market a part of your holiday preparations.

As a reminder this is the last market of the year. We will return on January 7th so plan on stocking up this Saturday!

We’re excited to welcome The Steve and Margot show with live holiday music and our market board of directors will be serving hot apple cider from Kiyokawa Orchards as well. With close to 80 vendors this week, our farms and small businesses are looking forward to connecting with our community.

This season we’re promoting the gift of local food. From purchasing a gift card from Wild Roots Farm for fresh produce to a meat subscription from Campfire Farms, we hope you will consider the gift of sustainably raised food.

Check out our holiday gift guide via the link with inspiring ideas and gifts you can pick up this Saturday. Market Holiday Gift Guide (mailchi.mp)

Read on for our list of attending vendors, pre-order options and seasonal favorites.

Find us from 10am-2pm at 2051 Kaen Rd (corner of Kaen and Beavercreek Roads) here in Oregon City.

Happy Holidays!

Our farms are digging deep (no pun intended) to find creative ways to get fresh produce into the hands of our community.

In addition to the various produce subscriptions one can purchase for themselves or others, Wild Roots Farm now offers gift cards. Access to fresh, seasonal produce is one click away. Simply click on the link and choose the desired dollar amount. As a market, we’re encouraging folks to take advantage of these opportunities to gift produce this year. It’s win-win for farms and consumers. Enjoy chatting with all of our farms about their purchasing options. Make sure to stock up on storage crops to carry you through until our next market.

Speaking of food subscriptions, Campfire Farms has some great ideas for gift giving this year!
Send a gift card or box of meat to someone in your life who loves to eat well, or for the family member who doesn’t need more plastic and trinkets. Oh, and their sweet swag and salamis make great stocking stuffers!

Want to send a gift that keeps them thinking of you throughout the year? Campfire now offers gift subscriptions! You decide what’s in the box and how long you want them to keep sending it to your loved (or liked) one.

If you’d like to put something special on the holiday table and would prefer to visit Campfire in person, come to the market on December 17th!

In addition, Martson FarmRock Creek Romneys and Scratch Meats all offer bulk buying opportunities and/or gift packs and gift cards to stock someone’s freezer. Make sure to check them out this Saturday.

Looking for a local gift that offers lasting benefits? Visit Landia Skincare this weekend at the market and chat with Bill, an expert in skin health and wellness.

Bill is one of the co-founders of Landia Skincare (the other being his wife, Kathy) and without Bill, Landia wouldn’t exist. He put his plant-science background to work back in 2012, when he and Kathy spent 2 years developing their formulations.  They joined our market in 2015 and have been here ever since.
Bill and Kathy have worked hard to create allergen free (palm, soy, gluten, alcohol and nuts) as well as toxin free (organically grown, plant ingredients) products that are also vegan and cruelty free.

Landia will have a slew of NEW products at market this Saturday, many of which make awesome stocking stuffers at under $25! Stop by the Landia booth and pick Bill’s brain – odds are good he can answer your skincare questions and help you find the perfect presents and maybe a little something or yourself, too!

Give back this season!
This Saturday, Water on Water Ave, a local non-profit, will be at our market in an effort to provide fresh drinking water to folks in need during the heat of summer.
Water on Water raises funds by selling upcycled cards and wares designed by low income, biracial artists. Last summer alone Water Ave distributed over 11,000 gallons of water to folks in need and have a goal to give away 100,000 gallons in 2023.
Come and support their efforts on Saturday by purchasing some of their cards and stickers.
Don’t forget! This Saturday is our last market to use Double Up Food Bucks before they expire. The good news is, thanks to generous grant funding, we will continue to offer up to a 20.00 produce match each market day beginning in January 2023.
