February at the Market

By 5 February 2026

The market is nourishing our community, all winter long!

Even in the heart of winter, our farmers, makers, and neighbors show up with the kind of steady, grounded abundance that defines this community. February is a month of quiet growth with roots deepening, plans unfolding, and our shared commitment to food access stronger than ever.

Whether you’re stocking up on winter staples, stretching your food dollars with SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks, or simply enjoying a Saturday morning surrounded by people who care about local food, we’re grateful you’re here.

Why Local Support Matters in Winter:

Winter is one of the most challenging seasons for small farms and food producers. Your support, whether it’s a bag of greens, a loaf of bread, or a jar of local honey helps keep:

•     Farmers planning and planting for spring
•     Makers producing through the slow months
•     Our regional food system resilient and community‑driven

When you choose local, you’re investing in the people who feed our community and in a food system rooted in care, sustainability, and connection.

Find us this Saturday, Feb 7th, on the campus of Clackamas Community College’s GREEN LOT 1 from 10am-2pm.

See you at the market!

Food Access: Everyone Deserves Fresh, Local Food
We believe that good food is a right, not a privilege. February is a great time to remind our community about the programs that help make fresh produce accessible to all:
•     SNAP/EBT accepted at the Info Booth
•     Double Up Food Bucks: Stretch your SNAP dollars with a dollar‑for‑dollar coupon match (up to 20.00) on fruits and vegetables
•     Power of Produce (POP) Club: empowering kids to explore healthy eating and local agriculture. Kids ages 5-12 can sign up at our Info Booth and receive 3.00 in tokens for fresh produce.
What’s in Season Right Now:

Winter harvests shine in February, and our vendors bring the best of the season:

•     Root vegetables: carrots, beets, parsnips, turnips, rutabagas
•     Hearty greens: kale, chard, collards, spinach
•     Brassicas: cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts
•     Alliums: onions, leeks, garlic
•     Winter squash: butternut, kabocha, delicata
•     Apples & pears: crisp, sweet, and perfect for snacking or baking
•     Local proteins: eggs, pasture‑raised meats, mushrooms (lots of protein!) and seasonal seafood
•     Pantry staples: beans, grains, honey, granola, preserves, breads, nuts and handcrafted baked goods.

These ingredients are perfect for soups, sheet‑pan roasts, grain bowls, and all the cozy meals that make winter feel nourishing and grounded.
