Fall Flavors and Book Fair Fun

By 16 October 2025

Fall Flavor Spotlight: Local Meats for Cozy Meals

As the weather cools, it’s time to fire up the oven and fill your kitchen with the comforting aromas of slow-roasted meats, root veggies, mushrooms and hearty stews. This week at the market, we’re celebrating two incredible vendors who bring pasture-raised goodness straight to your table:

Campfire Farms – Mulino, OR
Christina and Zach raise heritage pork and poultry with care and compassion, giving their animals a low-stress life and producing meat that’s rich in flavor and integrity. Their pasture-raised pork is perfect for fall dishes like cider-braised chops, sausage-stuffed squash, or a Sunday roast with apples and fennel.

 Martson Farm – Molalla, OR
Rick Martson’s Scottish Highland cattle are grass-fed and grass-finished, yielding lean, tender beef with deep flavor and nutritional benefits. Think slow-cooked chuck roast, bone broth bundles, or a classic pot roast with root vegetables. Their beef is raised traditionally — just like in the Highlands of Scotland. It’s not too early to consider pre-ordering for the holidays. Martson Farm will be taking orders for Prime Rib this Saturday.

Bob Mueller from As Iron Sharpens Iron will not be at the market on Saturday, but he will return on Oct 25th for his last market of the season. Not to worry, Bob transitions to taking personal knife sharpening orders and he lives right in Oregon City for drop off and pick up. He will have his contact info available. We also have some vendors returning who we haven’t seen in a while. Please welcome back:

🌿 Vendor Spotlight: Mindful Mushrooms 🍄

Meet Riley Sevigny, founder and cultivator behind Mindful Mushrooms — a local fungi farm dedicated to growing gourmet mushrooms with care, precision, and a deep respect for nature.

Riley’s mushrooms are cultivated in alder sawdust and soybean hulls, creating ideal conditions for high-quality yields. From oyster and lion’s mane to shiitake and chestnut, each variety is grown in a sterile, climate-controlled environment to ensure purity and flavor.

Mindful Mushrooms proudly holds a Certified Naturally Grown designation, meaning they never use synthetic chemicals or GMOs. This grassroots certification supports small-scale farmers committed to ecological balance and transparency.

Whether you’re a seasoned chef or a curious home cook, Riley’s fungi are a flavorful way to connect with the land and support regenerative agriculture. Stop by their booth and ask about their favorite mushroom recipes — they’re always happy to share!
