Eat drink …and be scary!

This Saturday (Oct. 27th) is the last Market at the Kaen Rd site before the Winter Market opens in Downtown OC next Saturday , Nov. 3rd!   (Pick up a new Winter Market Bookmark at the Info. Booth with the schedule) Eat, Drink and be Scary...and don’t forget to take a spooky “alien”home with you ..we still have some left (Proceeds benefit the kids POP Club) 39 vendors this weekend bringing lots of great produce: grapes, figs,  gourds, corn, onions, carrots, greens, lettuce, broccoli, cabbage, peppers, tomatoes, garlic, rosemary, quince, kiwis berries, Asian pears,  plums, apples, pears, paw paws, plus gold , red, fingerlings and purple potatoes as well as an amazing selection of winter squash, including great pumpkins!  Pastured meats, farm fresh eggs, dried beans…and the first CRAB of the season and steamer clams! Hummus, pickles, breads and pastries…all the usual great stuff for your family…even for your dog ! Aunt Tammy’s Pet Treats..back this week as is Madrugada Pottery with lovely gift ideas for you…(and all locally made:) Daisy Fed will have their Sore Muscle Balm restocked as well as their Lavender Goat Milk Soap.  (They’ll be all decorated up and goodies for the kids!) This will be the last chance of the season to sharpen those knives and garden tools…so don’t forget them! …and He Sells These Shells will have excellent squirrel food available and a free pair of garden gloves with any 5 bag purchase of hazelnut shells.

Friendly Market Faces at the Info. Booth!

Trick or Treat for the kids and everyone gets to vote for their favorite vendor costume.…. The 4H Ambassadors will be bringing small dogs and rabbits , plus activities for the kids including decorating a goody bag,  4-H tattoos , and face-painting! Over in the POP Club Fun Booth… The Oregon City Lions Club “Lions Strides” ( designed to promote walking, exercise, and a greater awareness about the prevention of Type 2 juvenile diabetes)  will lead Stride walks on the hour at 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, and 1:00pm. Over 150 children have  registered to be part of the Strides program. Those active members should bring his or her Strides tracking form to the Farmers Market in order to participate in the Strides contest.  (Some participants have reported taking over a combined total of 400 walks.!) Each 30 minute walk earns a ticket for a drawing which will occur THIS Saturday at 1:45pm. Please arrive early if you have walks and parks recorded on your tracking forms which haven’t been previously submitted. Winners do not need to be present to win. Winners will be notified and prizes will be awarded at the November 6th Lions Club meeting. The prizes are a bicycle, skateboard, razor, and three $25 gift certificates…wow wee!! We’ll also be giving away tickets to the new Krayon Kids show “Camp Itchabite”  coming up in November. http://www.krayonkids.org/

The market accepts cash, debit, EBT (SNAP) and P-EBT cards. WIC and Senior Farm Direct checks are accepted by all produce vendors and expire on Nov 30th each year. Stop by our information booth for information.
