Discover What’s in Season at the Market

By 14 February 2024

Reap the benefits of shopping locally.

Here at the market, we’re always humbled by the hard work and dedication our growers and makers put into bringing the freshest food possible to feed our community. We celebrate and honor seasonality.

For customers, the rewards are plentiful. How wonderful to know the food you eat has been grown within a 25-mile radius of our market. It means you are eating the freshest, seasonal, least processed food available!

We’re in that period between winter and spring where crops begin to wane a bit and we eagerly anticipate the first glimpses of miner’s lettuce and tender garlic scapes. Even in Oregon’s wet winter climate seasonal produce is still available but the winter storms affected many of our farm’s harvests.

As a solution, 4 of our farms are combining efforts this Saturday to provide a fully stocked double booth. This week you will find Wild Roots FarmFarm D’ICI and Sun Love produce all under Storybook Farm’s tents. We love to see the community built amongst our farmers so please come and stock up.

RJ Farms will also be here with their plentiful storage crops, eggs, root veggies and hearty potatoes, perfect for baking or roasting.

The market has plenty of options for nutrient dense foods this week and we are excited to return this Saturday, Feb 17th, from 10am-2pm.

Find us at Clackamas Community College in Green Lot 1 here in Oregon City located off the corner of S Beavercreek Road and Clairmont Drive.

See you soon!

Despite the cold season, there are still plenty of hearty, nutritious produce available at the market. Now is a great time to include protein rich foods to boost your wellness.

With health boosting immunities and essential vitamins, mushrooms are known to decrease blood pressure and increase cardiovascular health.  Plus, they’re available year-round thanks to their indoor growing capabilities. They’re full of protein and make a great meat substitute thanks to their meaty textures and earthy flavors.

Eating microgreens is another great way to include nutrients. Add some to a smoothie, garnish over a meal or simply eat as part of a salad. They’re flavor packed, tender in texture and add a delightful pop of vitamins during these cold dreary days. Loaded with vitamins and cancer fighting properties, microgreens are a valued addition to one’s diet.

You can find both Mindful Mushrooms and Mulino Microgreens conveniently next to each other at the market this Saturday.
