Did You Know Our Market is Year-Round?

By 19 September 2024

We are grateful to operate as a year-round market.

It’s been wonderful to welcome so many new customers to the market. Many don’t realize we’re a year-round market! This means we are open for ALL the seasons, thanks to our hardworking farmers and local producers. We are thankful to remain a source of local food access for our communities.

This weekend we will have our brand new 2024/25 Winter Bookmarks. These are handy to place on your fridge or another visible area to remind you of the dates we are open. The season will kick off on Nov 9th at 10am.

Make plans now to join us for our harvest and holiday markets. They’re a festive time with live music, farms, artisans and local food producers in addition to complimentary hot apple cider at our Holiday market. The market provides the perfect opportunity to stock up on fresh ingredients and gifts while enjoying your community.

For now, we’re still basking in the early fall glow thanks to the abundance summer’s harvest continues to provide. A couple farm updates for you: Pheasant’s EyeAlbeke and Fulton Family Farms have completed their fruit season and will return in the spring.

RJ Farms continues to offer beautiful fall harvests of berries, melons and late stone fruits. Don’t forget their grape varieties! They’re incredibly sweet and delicious.

Lots of apple and pear varieties are showing up at Kiyokawa Orchards. Not sure which ones to try? Kiyokawa offers a description for each fruit they sell. Whether it’s tart, crunchy, ideal for baking or perfect for a cheese pairing, the tasting notes provide helpful tips!

Find us this Saturday from 9am-2pm at Clackamas Community College’s GREEN LOT 1 here in Oregon City. Easy access is available off the corner of S Beavercreek Rd and Clairmont Drive. Tri Met Bus Line 32 stops next to the market as well.

See you Saturday!

VENDOR SPOTLIGHT – ONA YOGURT

Ona Yogurt is a dairy free, plant-based yogurt company that we’re grateful to have at our market.
Back in 2020, Clare (Ona Yogurt’s founder) wanted to swap out her dairy Greek yogurt for a dairy-free option. Because the plant-based movement was growing, she figured finding a dairy-free Greek-style yogurt would be easy. She quickly realized she was wrong.Clare tried 30+ brands and was shocked when she couldn’t find a single dairy-free yogurt that was:

  • High in Protein
  • Low in Sugar
  • Thick
  • Creamy
  • Tasted GOOD
  • Not $10+

Clare uses locally grown ingredients and sources fresh fruit from our farmers. With seasonal favorites such as Oregon Strawberry, Ona also incorporates year-round flavors such as Lemon Curd. Using tofu as her base, the texture and flavors are smooth and light without sour aftertastes often found in commercial yogurts.
Using sustainable practices, Ona Yogurt is sold in two sizes of glass jars and offers a glass exchange program for less environmental impact.

The Ona team joins us every other week at the market and are scheduled for this Saturday.

Pro Tip: Purchase granola from Simple Trail located right next to Ona at the market. We highly recommend sprinkling some of their Tropical granola over Lemon Curd yogurt! Read more about Ona’s nutritional information by visiting their website!
