The leaves are turning which makes us excited for fall produce.

There’s plenty of it, thanks to our hardworking farmers.

Coming into season right now are Delicata Squash. If you haven’t roasted squash before, we encourage you to give it a try. Bring out all the natural sweetness by slicing open length wise and scraping out the seeds. Douse in olive oil, salt, pepper and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Roast in a 425-degree oven until soft and caramelized. Of course, there are plenty of ways to enjoy this versatile squash but sometimes simple is best!

This week is South Barlow Berries final market of summer. Now’s your chance to get their last berries of the season. Plan on making that last batch of jam or freeze for winter!

Don’t forget to bring your EBT/SNAP or P-EBT SNAP card to our Information Booth for a 20.00 produce match. Questions on using SNAP at farmers markets? We’ve got you covered with all the details. It’s a great way to support local farms and businesses plus purchase seasonal, fresh food.

As we said, ReTreat Foods PDX will be back this week. Zsuzsanna visits our market once a month with her plant based chocolates in seasonal flavors with locally sourced fruits, nuts and herbs. The beauty behind these incredible chocolates is the fact Zsuzanna travels to Guatemala and meets her cacao farmers. She is passionate about ethical sourcing and supporting small farms.
You can count on ReTreat chocolates to be vegan without any refined sugars or soy and organic packed in returnable tins.

This week our Power of Produce kids will have the opportunity to create their own bird feeders using Squirrelly Jane’s organic nut butter and bird seed. Bring your kiddos ages 5-12 for a chance to make some snacks for our feathered friends! (Bags to transport home feeders will be provided)
Our market is fortunate enough to have a talented group of artisans who create art using upcycled and local materials, providing buyers the opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind pieces.

This week Olivia Serrill will be joining us with her prints created from satellite imagery of our incredible State and specifically, Oregon City. Olivia uses oils in a loose, semi-abstract technique that resembles impressionism. Find Olivia Serrill Art this Saturday and welcome her to the market (and buy some of her amazing prints).
