Celebrate National Farmers Market Week!

By 10 August 2023

Farmers markets are changing the way…

We eat, shop, connect, and more!

Across the country, farmers markets are defining their role in our communities. Markets are not only essential to local food systems, but are increasing opportunities for us to learn, grow, and work together.

Farmers markets are designed in partnership with the people they serve, and create a space where market operators, farmers, shoppers,

and neighbors can collaborate to meet the evolving needs of their community.

Read on for some fun ways we will be celebrating this Saturday at the market!

You can find us at 2051 Kaen Rd (corner of Beavercreek and Kaen Roads) from 9am-2pm in Oregon City

A REMINDER: Due to market lot repaving, our Aug 19th market will be held at nearby N Lot. We will be onsite to help direct you!

See you at the market!

MARKET TOUR this SATURDAY!

OSU Extension is hosting its monthly “Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food” Tour this Saturday, from 9:30-10:30 am, starting at the Information booth. Everyone is invited to participate!

Each month shoppers are introduced to farmer/vendors selling a variety of fresh, seasonal, and locally grown foods. Spanish translation is available if requested in advance.  Shoppers making purchases with SNAP tokens and WIC and Senior vouchers will be eligible to receive an additional $10 of market currency at the end of the tour.

OSU is also hosting a Scavenger Hunt for kids participating in the POP Club. Activity sheets can be picked up at the OSU booth. Completed activity sheets can be redeemed for an additional $2 in POP Club tokens.
For more information, contact Kelly Streit at kelly.streit@oregonstate.edu.

MARKET CHEF DEMO
Join Mary of Wild Roots Farm at our market kitchen booth this Saturday for a delicious demo on preparing homemade pesto and fresh sauces using ingredients grown on their farm. Mary will be giving out samples plus recipes. Of course, you will find the bulk of the ingredients right at the market. Mary’s recipes are quick and easy, perfect for warm summer days.
Join us at 10:30 directly after the market tour!
