Berries, Cherries, Oh My!

By 20 June 2024

Berry season is coming in sweet!

As we hit some warmer temperatures, the market will begin to see more and more berries! This week, Pheasant’s Eye Farm reports they will have their first harvest of BlackberriesSouth Barlow Berries, and RJ Farms will have raspberries and before long, blueberries will begin to make their appearance (a tad early yet).

Cherries are plentiful right now! Chelans, Rainiers, Bings and more are filling up our fruit farmer’s stalls. But before we get too eager for the next best fruit, let’s not forget to indulge in all the varieties of strawberries while the season is here. Did you know the average person eats 8lbs of strawberries each year?

One of our market musical favorites returns this week! The Steve and Margot Show will be performing a live music set from 9:30-1pm this Saturday. This is always a popular show so plan to shop, have brunch and enjoy Steve and Margot’s music varieties and talent.

Join us this Saturday from 9am-2pm at Clackamas Community College GREEN LOT 1 here in Oregon City (off the corner of S. Beavercreek Rd and Clairmont Drive).

See you at the market!

Seasonal bouquets abound from Farrah Farms, Fulton Family Farms, Affolter Farms, Holley’s Flowers, Hill Tree Garden and Lee’s Gardens so make sure to pick one up this Saturday.
Stay Rad, Stay Local is back!

Pick up your summer farmers market passport at our Information Booth this Saturday and plan on visiting all of Portland’s metro area farmers markets this summer! Each market you visit earns a stamp. Whichever market you finish your passport at, customers will receive a prize!  It’s a great way to ‘staycation’ while supporting Oregon’s local growers and makers.

The prize for finishing a passport at our market is 10.00 in market tokens to spend on the items of your choosing, plus one of our insulated market shopping totes!
