This Saturday is the 4th of July and our market will be open from 9AM – 2PM!

It’s rare that the 4th of July falls on a market day. This year the forecast looks beautiful and the market has everything you need to enjoy the weekend. We can all agree nothing looks the same as in years prior but we can still make the best of it by keeping some traditions alive. Whether you’re planning a socially distanced “Bring Your Own Dinner” gathering or a family BBQ you can one stop shop for the essentials.

Some of our vendors at the market this weekend you won’t want to miss!
Christina and Zach of Campfire Farms will be at the market this weekend ready to provide you with pastured raised pork and poultry. They will have some great options if you’re looking to grill this weekend.
Ryan and Anna of Brown Bottle farm are bringing a gorgeous assortment of Certified Naturally Grown produce. 14 hour work days are part of the gig these days and they do it willingly in order to bring fresh food to your table. Lots to choose from this weekend!
Purple, Speckled, and Red Potatoes *  Broccoli, Kale, Chard. Quinoa Greens *  Purple Yellow and Romanesco Cauliflower * Lettuce Heads, Salad Mix * Cherry/Currant Tomatoes*, Slicer Tomatoes*, Cucumbers*, Garlic, Carrots*, Purple Pole Beans*, the last of the Sugar Snap Peas, Zucchini and Squash*, and Herbs! We’ll also have fresh fermented Sauerkraut, Smoked Pepper Salt, Kimchi*
It’s always exciting when Diana’s Delights is at the market. Diana sources all of her fruit and veggies locally in order to bring you the tastiest jams, chutneys and relishes. This weekend she is bringing back her Proper British Scones and her Rugelach. They will go quickly, however. Plan to either arrive at opening or you can place a special order with Diana directly by calling 503-655-7203
(DISCLAIMER: This is a photo taken from last summer. Diana and all of our vendors will be wearing masks at the market!)
It’s hard to celebrate the 4th without pie. Bart’s Pies will be here and I would advise pre-ordering so you can make sure you get yours. I can pretty much guarantee he will sell out. Check out our What’s Good Marketplace app (www.sourcewhatsgood.com) to order.
We all know social gatherings have a different appearance to them and it has caused us to get very creative. One idea if you are hosting a distanced gathering is to offer pre made picnic boxes. This eliminates the open buffet style, creating a safer get together.

Fill the boxes with all the favorites. Grilled sausages (Campfire and Fisher Ridge Farms), roasted veggies (Sun Love, Farm D’ICI, Brown Bottle, Sandy Bluff, Pheasant’s Eye or Coyote Ridge), and potato salad (potatoes from Sun Love or Brown Bottle)

Or perhaps lighter fare such as baguette (Grano Bakery) with some cheese varieties (By George Farm) and fresh berries.

Create separate dessert containers with shortcakes, lemon curd (Diana’s Delights), fresh berries (Albeke Farms, South Barlow, Farm D’ICI, Pheasant’s Eye) and whipped cream (Lady Lane Dairy) a slice of Bart’s Pie or cookies from Grano and La Provence.

Let guests bring their own beverages such as a bottle of Sparkling Rose from Forest Edge Vineyard.  Make some Gin and Tonics (with Stillweather or Trail Distilling Gin) ahead of time and bring in a thermos. Canned cocktails from 503 Distilling or Beer from Coin Toss Brewery are easy options!
If you’re looking for an alcohol free choice, how about some Mint Lemonade or Blackberry Sage Kombucha from Wildland Kombucha?

Set up lawn chairs outside in the fresh air and enjoy a new way to celebrate.

Easy clean up, less contact and a great option to enjoying the holiday.
