Treats for Mom at the Market!

By 11 May 2017

If Mom loves cheese we have a special surprise for her this Saturday. Goldin Artisan Cheese from Molalla, (handcrafted artisan farmstead goats cheese), will be selling this weekend and next, and just a couple more times at the OC Market this summer. http://www.goldinartisangoatcheese.com/  Carine’s cheese has won The Super Gold Medal (out of 2,727 cheeses!) at the World Cheese Awards in Britain in 2015 and the Gold Medal at the US Good Food Awards in CA in 2016….yes it’s THAT special!  Pick up a bottle of wine from Kings Raven Winery or Forest Edge Vineyards, a crusty loaf from La Provence and you are all set.

Jam or Lemon Curd and a bag of Proper Scones from Diana’s Delights…make a perfect Mothers Day tea!

Treat Mom to some special seafood too. Wild Oregon is bringing Sturgeon, Chinook Salmon, Stripper Prawns and Ling Cod, plus Crab and other shell fish join the feast for the Mother’s Day celebration. We’ll have plenty of asparagus again, as well as wild garden salad mix, arugula, baby kale and spinach, easter-egg radishes and fresh herbs from Sun Love Farms and fresh strawberries again from RJ Farms, who also have an abundance of fresh farm hens eggs, while Sun Love has duck eggs. NW Ferments are back this week with (new!) Cranberry Kombucha Mustard …as well as kits and cultures to get you fermenting this summer. https://nwferments.com/

On the crafty side of the street we have (new vendor) BBNW Candles. These local small- batch soy candles are some of the best smelling candles….come and see/smell for yourself! They use only premium chemical-free fragrance oils and you can tell the difference. Carl from CHWoodworking has some beautiful hand-crafted cutting and presentation boards for Mothers Day gifts, and what lady wouldn’t want Landia Organic facial creams, cleansers, serums and body lotions??!  Fresh flower bouquets, hanging baskets, soaps and hand creams, traditional Shortbread, jams and scones….you are bound to find something to take home for Mom!

Silky Meyer is playing cool tunes (10am-1.30pm) and joining us this week is Ingrid’s Scandinavian Food and Second Son Kimbap (Korean Sushi), as well as Sara’s wonderful tamales for Market Eats. Double Jump Coffee is back (we missed them last week)…and Eastside Distilling will have a little taste of the hard stuff to tempt you!

The POP Club kids will be potting up a plant for Mom…as well as getting their $2 in wooden tokens to spend on fresh produce and plants to grow their own food. Maggys Farm sells plant starts for $3 (Certified Naturally Grown)….. but makes them available for $2 for the POP Club kids to plant!

SNAP To It! this week is brought to Market by a partnership with the Market and OSU Extension and funded by Clackamas Federal Credit Union!
