2015-07-25 09.40.25Yes, it’s here..the bounty is even earlier this year. Find much to choose from Saturday, 9am-2pm, at 2051 Kaen Rd, off Beavercreek Rd. 56 vendors, hot food, live music..with plenty of close parking!

 

2015-07-25 09.30.17Break out the recipe books, you’ll want to take extra home this weekend to preserve. Not sure about canning? Then freeze or dry…you’ll be glad you did in the depths of winter. Come to the Info Booth and get your free Ball Canning Guide. The Master Food Preservers will be back next month on Sept. 12th. Pickling cukes, cling-free peaches, corn, tomatoes, peppers, beets..all the canning faves are now in season. Apples and pears are making an entrance now as well as melons. Too much to list here…come and see yourself!

Ask Robin how to prepare and serve the beautiful fresh fish she brings to market ..and if you want fresh huckleberries for the salmon (a traditional NW native pairing) ..we have those too. In the Market Kitchen, starting at 10.30am and running till 1pm, Chef Amy will be preparing and  cooking Enchiladas using Deck Farms pastured pork, peaches and tomatillos! Find a seat, watch the demo, grab a bite and take home a recipe.

Next week we’re having a Blood Drive! Bloodworks NW will be on site. They provide blood for all the area hospitals….give blood at the Market on the 22nd and save a life!

Also next week we have the annual Best Market Tomato Contest…and you are the judges!  Stop by the booth and taste the varieties….tell us your favorite. Red, orange, black, purple, yellow, orange, green, striped, plum, pear, cherry, salad, sauce, canning…we love ’em all but let’s see which is the Market fave!
