Too much to list this week…the amazing bounty of this area is now in the Market…and we will be spoilt for choice! The following are just some of the highlights: LOCAL Peppers and tomatoes galore! Green beans, corn, eggplant, lettuce, cukes, zucchini, summer squash, (including patty pan) , new potatoes, basil (for pesto?), melons, peaches, nectarines, berries, plums (Italian too)…all SO fresh and in their peak of flavor!
Need a sharp knife to cut the corn off? Bring ‘em to Sir Sharp-a-Lot this Saturday…he’ll make sure nothing leaves dull!
We’ll have pasture-raised meats too (Sweet Home have checked in to say they will have Pork Leg steaks on sale for $5.99/lb! …..they are a bit large at 1.5-2.5 lbs but make for great leftovers!) Fresh fish from Wild Oregon will include the last of the fresh Sardines,plus Albercore Tuna and Chinook salmon.
