When peaches come into season, they are plump, sweet, delicious and dripping with nutritious juice! But despite our best efforts, the season comes and goes and it’s just plain impossible to enjoy them fresh 100% of the time. Apart from peaches we will also have red, yellow, green, black and white peppers, banana peppers, cherry peppers, a few hot ones even and delicious Padron Peppers. Cukes, including pickling ones. Patty Pan and yellow squash, zukes (5 for $2 from Parsons Farms) beans, beets, potatoes, broccoli, kale, leeks, onions, shallots, cilantro, basil (Pesto anyone..?) AND the LOCAL corn is in!! Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, nectarines, may be some cherries still, the early Gravenstein and Gold apples….and possibly melons.
All of you contacting me about Blossom Vinegars…well they’re BACK this week! Wonderful locally-crafted fruit vinegars to go on your salads…or in marinades, and you HAVE to taste their Drinking Vinegars..try such delicious flavors as Wild flower and Dark Cherry ,the exotic and addictive Mango-Habanero, or Ginger, Apple Pear and Loganberry-Beet , really terrific in sparkling water for a refreshing cold drink!
